Writing Process Rationale

Using a writing process helps students to develop their writing into an organized finished work that is appealing to the audience. The writing process is part of the MN Academic Standards under the section Writing Process: Production and Distribution of Writing 4, 5, and 6. Throughout the writing process, students are able to reflect on the purpose for writing, the meaning behind the writing, and the organization of the writing. Without all of these elements coming together, a piece of writing would not be relevant to the reader.
