Beating Writer's Block
Good writer's know how to beat writer's block! There are times when you just can't think of anything to write about. If you have tried thinking of ideas to add to your writing ideas charts and are still stumped, you can try a Rapid Write to get your brain in action.
Time yourself, about 5 minutes is usually long enough, while you keep writing about a topic to get your brain geared-up for writing. You will not worry about making mistakes, spelling correctly, punctuation... only what your brain thinks about the topic. Write as fast as you can to get as much information onto your paper as possible!
Afterwards, look at what you wrote and pick out useful information that you can use to start organizing your writing. Keep thinking about more ideas you could add and write them down, too. Now you have a place to start from.
What if you don't? Pick a different topic and do another Rapid Write!
